Itineraries

Day 1

Kampong Cham

Your Mekong journey starts on land. From Siem Reap, a private motor-coach threads through the Cambodian countryside — past rice paddies, village shrines, and the fading grandeur of Angkor — before delivering you to Kampong Cham. There, the Mekong Princess awaits, with cool towels, chilled drinks, and warm smiles.

Day 2

Angkor Ban

Morning arrives in the quiet village of Angkor Ban, where time moves
at the river's pace. Step ashore to the village pagoda, where
saffron-robed monks offer a blessing beneath the ceiling adorned
with painted legends. Stilted wooden homes line the path beyond;
one family opens their door, offering a glimpse into daily life along the
Mekong. The last pause is the local school, where children pull you
briefly, and cheerfully, into their world.

Day 3

Phnom Penh

Morning leads you beyond the city and to the countryside, where Cambodia's sorrowful past is laid bare. At Choeung Ek, known to the world as the Killing Fields, butterflies drift over sun-dappled grass as you walk through memorial grounds where countless lives were lost during the Khmer Rouge regime. The Memorial Stupa, filled with shattered fragments of history, stands as a tribute, a reminder, and a vow never to forget.

On the journey back to the city, you pause at Tuol Sleng. Once a school echoing with children's laughter, it was transformed into a prison of unthinkable cruelty. Stark classrooms, rusted bedframes, and faded photographs speak plainly of the suffering endured and of the strength that survived it.

Day 4

Hong Ngu

Dawn breaks gently over the Mekong as our ship crosses the border into Vietnam. At the
riverside village of Hong Ngu, looms hum softly beneath stilted homes, weaving Khmer
scarves in rhythms passed down through generations. For over a century, this craft has
flourished here, its shawl weaving officially recognized as Vitetnam's national intangible
cultural heritage.

Many homes double as workshops, where artisans weave beneath stilted floors or hang dyed
threads in brilliant hues from wooden racks. Step inside and meet a family of weavers, who
eagerly share their techniques and stories, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of
Vietnam.

Next, enter a nearby temple dedicated to Hoa Hao, a unique religion founded in this region of
Vietnam. Long untouched by tourism, this corner of the Delta opens like a secret garden,
fragrant with hospitality and tradition.

Day 5

Hoa An

Morning finds you in Hoa An Village, a rural commune that lives by the rhythm of its gardens and fields. Ashore, a fleet of xe loi (local motor carts) carries you along narrow roads bordered by emerald paddies and fruit orchards, past farmers tending their crops in the early light.

Back on boat, the route passes the region's rice milling centers - boatloads of grain unloaded, milled, and sorted for the country's daily meals, the whole operation humming at the water's edge.

The morning ends in the home of a conical hat artisan. Beneath a simple roof, nimble fingers fold and stitch palm leaves into graceful silhouettes. Here, tradition lives not as performance, but as daily practice. A soft smile, a shared story, a quiet moment with the maker - a memory pressed gently into your hands.

Day 6

Can Tho

Before dawn, the Mekong comes to life. The gentle sounds of
boats gliding along the river can be heard in the distance, as
vendors begin setting up their stalls for the day in Cái Rang
Floating Market. The bustling energy of the morning market
slowly starts to take over, creating a vibrant atmosphere along
the riverbank. By the time you board a sampan and glide toward
Cái Răng, the river is already wide awake.

Wooden boats, weathered by time and fragrant with river silt
and ripened fruit, drift and jostle gently on the morning tide,
laden with everything from golden pumpkins to baskets spilling
over with fresh fruit like longans and rambutans. Some serve
steaming coffee with condensed milk; others offer chilled
drinks, their vendors weaving through water with practiced
grace beneath conical hats. A single pole rises from each
vessel, proudly displaying its wares-a language without
words, understood by all. Here, daily life floats a by,
ephemeral and eternal, carried on the river's breath.

Day 7

Ben Tre

Morning arrives softly in Ben Tre, a name long known to the Vietnamese people as "Coconut Land". Ashore, a line of xe lam-a vintage three-wheeler that was once the most popular mode of transportation in southern Vietnam-waits to carry you through charming village streets.

Day 8

Ho Chi Minh

The final morning arrives not with fanfare, but with a hush. Outside the window, Ho Chi Minh City stirs, the hum of life slowly rising. Onboard, breakfast is served with quiet grace, the aroma of fresh bread and tropical fruit mingling with the first light of day.
