Journey through the Bay of Fires on a three-day walking adventure across coastlines and rocky landscapes. You’ll head east to this remote corner of Tasmania, following trails to beaches rimmed with red rocks that contrast with blue bays. Chase summits for vast views and weave through coastal tea trees and heath country with your local leader guiding the group. Visit Eddystone Point Lighthouse, walk from Skeleton Bay to Dora Point, and see local wildlife like wallabies and echidnas along the way.

Itineraries

Day 1

Launceston → Bay of Fires → St Helens

Depart from Launceston at 7:30 am and journey east to the Bay of Fires Conservation Area. Enjoy coastal walks at Binalong Bay, spotting wallabies and seabirds. Transfer to St Helens for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Bayside Hotel St Helens or similar (1 night)

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2

Bay of Fires / St Helens

Visit Eddystone Point Lighthouse, then hike through Mt William National Park along white‑sand beaches from Stumpys 4 Campground to Deep Creek. Return to St Helens with optional visit to a local winery.

Accommodation: Bayside Hotel St Helens or similar (1 night)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 3

Bay of Fires → Policeman’s Point → The Gardens → Launceston

Drive to Policeman’s Point and walk the coastal boardwalk to The Gardens, marveling at fiery lichen boulders, pristine beaches, and ocean views. Head back to Launceston via the Blue Tier Regional Reserve with a guided rainforest walk before concluding in Launceston late afternoon.
